Job Description

Startup Strategy & Operations: Assist the Chief Executive Officer in planning for and closing additional rounds of capital sufficient to develop and grow the company. Play a key role within senior management team to formulate strategy and manage operations.

Financial Operations: Develop, manage and evolve appropriate processes and controls for transactions to and from retail investors and borrowers. Properly account for transactions related to the origination and repayment of real estate loans. At scale, the operation will consist of tens of thousands of monthly transfers and hundreds of real estate transactions in 50 to 100 localities nationwide. Solutions must be tax compliant and efficient for highly scalable business operations.

Regulatory Compliance: In collaboration with the Executive Vice President of Legal & Regulatory Affairs, ensure compliance with relevant federal and state securities laws. We are currently qualifying an umbrella offering under Regulation A as one step along a more extensive regulatory roadmap. Our offering circular already exceeds 350 pages, including fully audited financials.

PRODUCT

GROUNDFLOOR takes private lending public. We offer access for non-accredited and accredited investors to participate directly in short-term commercial construction loans backed by residential property, hyper-fractionalized to $10, at yields of 5-26%.

Even for accredited investors, high minimum requirements for capital and expertise conspire with securities regulations to block the vast majority of investors from participating in the lucrative market for private lending in real estate. Leveraging our proprietary underwriting engine and innovative application of existing securities law, we solve the hunt for yield for over 250 million non-accredited investors in the U.S.

We are the only "crowdfunding" platform in real estate that offers 100% of its loans for participation by all.

GROUNDFLOOR is looking for a senior software engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal person for this role enjoys automating business processes, architecting interactions with third party services, writing tests to ensure reliability and robustness of our web applications. The position will primarily be focused on deeply learning our tech stack, while expanding the services we provide to our customers.

Our Needs

We’re looking to automate business processes, integrate deeper with third parties, and expand our website to better serve our borrowers and investors. We’re a team of 11 people, so every person has the opportunity make a big impact on the business in multiple ways. We’re hosted on heroku with some AWS messaging sprinkled in, though that mix will probably change over time. Our front end application is written in Ruby on Rails and it talks to a back end API written in Ruby/Roda.

Requirements

We are currently seeking a Demand Gen leader to join our growing marketing team. The role will be vital for driving revenue and profitability by generating, and converting, quality borrower leads through flawless execution of highly targeted campaigns against key segments and overall marketplace objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relevant sales collateral and other sales materials to support both the inside and field sales teams; participate in our overall sales strategy

GROUNDFLOOR is currently seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals who are looking for a midlevel sales position. While this is a mid-level role, the expectation is that the successful candidate will demonstrate the drive, creativity, teamwork, and integrity required for rapid career progression. Significant account management experience is required; familiarity with real estate investment and mortgage concepts through experience or education is highly preferred. Our customers are real estate entrepreneurs who purchase, renovate, and manage properties to earn business income. The purpose of this position is to administer and manage our highest value relationships to ensure customer satisfaction, as measured by the rate of repeat business by assigned clients. This role provides centralized support for all the needs of each assigned client with a primary focus on originating new loans. To be successful, people in this role must ensure the delivery of quality service, provide rapid response, and develop strong communication links between GROUNDFLOOR and the client.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Primary sales contact for key accounts. Maintain regular contact with assigned accounts to 1) secure new loan production, and 2) identify, research and resolve any questions, service quality issues, procedure changes, new loan programs, billing issues or any other requests made by the client.
  • Identify and prioritize key themes e.g. client experience (CX), competition, pricing, etc. Understand the voice of the customer (VOC); their priorities, pain points and broader challenges through targeted client interviews. Proactively update leadership on findings and essential updates.
  • Coordinate internal research and response among all GROUNDFLOOR departments to various inquiries from assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate quarterly relationship reviews with the senior management of GROUNDFLOOR to convey market understanding to develop strategic recommendations and identify possible product and service enhancements based upon client feedback.
  • Evaluate use of optional services by each assigned client to ensure optimum service levels as appropriate for each client.
